The holiday season invites us to celebrate life’s most vibrant moments—shared laughter, joyous music, and lively gatherings. For Day Nine of our 12 Days of Cocktails, we’re taking inspiration from “Ladies Dancing” with a cocktail as spirited as the name suggests: the Dancing Berry Sangria.
This festive sangria combines the crisp, berry-forward flavor of Wabamin by Mattaponi Winery with a medley of fresh fruits, cranberry juice, and a fizzy soda water finish. It’s the perfect addition to your holiday gatherings, offering a bright and refreshing break from richer seasonal drinks.
A Symphony of Flavor
Sangria is synonymous with celebration, and the Dancing Berry Sangria takes it up a notch with its vibrant colors and layered flavors. The tartness of cranberries, the sweetness of apples, and the citrusy brightness of oranges meld seamlessly with the clean, refreshing notes of Mattaponi Winery’s Wabamin. This sangria isn’t just a drink—it’s a showstopper, embodying the lively and elegant spirit of dancing through the holidays.
Honoring Heritage with Mattaponi Winery
At the heart of this cocktail lies Wabamin, a creation of Mattaponi Winery, a family-owned Virginia winery deeply rooted in tradition. “Wabamin,” meaning “white berry,” reflects the wine’s light, crisp, and berry-driven character—making it an ideal base for a sangria that’s equal parts festive and refined.
